Martini d’Oro is sweet vermouth, a white wine fortified with herbs and  species. Which receive  its bitter taste from the herb of the common worm wood (Artemisia absinthium). Martini d’Oro has an alcohol content of  9%  and contains 170 gr /litre sugar. It receives its golden color by additions of caramel.

 The used white wine is carefully pressed, so that as few as possible taning agent attains into the must. The fermented must us clarified and matures some times. In the meantime the herb extract is set by mazeration, i.e. the herbs and roots remain for one to two weeks in a mixture of alcohol and wine, in which all ingredients and flavours are leached out. Apart from the herbs only natural alcohol and sugar are added to the basic wine afterwards.

The mixed product finally matures still some time, in order to achieves a harmoniously combined essence. The maturation time usually lasts three to four months and may reach up ti 18 months in exceptional cases.
