Licor 43 is a Spanish liqueur of altogether 43 ingredients, which originate from the Mediterranean i.e. citrus fruits, Mediterranean herbs, floral essences vanilla and other herbs. The vanilla plant is a tropic creeping plant of the family of orchids, which climbs within their natural environment of the tropic rain forest up to 10 meters high. It has up to 1.000 big yellow flowers which wither only after a few hours. The long sheet ropes arise from the pollinated flowers and are used for seasoning. The place of the origin of the vanilla plant is the primeval forest of Mexico. A major part of the worldwide harvest comes from Madagascar. The Comoros and reunion which was called Bourbon in earlier times. Therefore vanilla from this area is also called Bourbon Vanilla.
